Reflecting on Decay

In 2023 I battled sever back pain. During the most challenging times of pain and immobility I found solace in a photo project which I called "Reflecting on decay". Through reflective imagery I have tried to unveil a duality of life and find solace in the beauty that can be found amidst decay. All of the images were taken on my kitchen counter. Yes, you read that right! During the most gruelling moments my kitchen counter become a makeshift studio, where I explored the textures and decay found in everyday objects or in the most unexpected places. Capturing photos served as a therapeutic escape, channelling pain into creative expression. I believe that the meaning of these reflections goes beyond the physical realm. Hopefully these will remind us to appreciate the fleeting nature of life and to find strength in our ability to adapt and overcome. I hope that these images, taken in the most unlikely settings, will inspire you to reflect on your own journeys and find solace in the beauty of decay.
